OUR TEAM

Adam Klevinas

Adam Klevinas, B.A., B.C.L, LL.B founded Sportlex in 2020 and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2012. His vision was to create a specialized practice dedicated to serving the unique legal needs of the Canadian and international sports community.

Throughout his legal career, Adam has developed a specialization at the international, national and provincial level in team selection and carding disputes, anti-doping and safe sport litigation, as well as disciplinary matters. In parallel, he has developed significant experience reviewing and drafting selection policies, anti-doping rules, safe sport policies and other sport-specific policies.

Adam was a member of Canada’s national sprint kayak team, after which he started his legal career as a litigation lawyer at McCarthy Tétrault LLP before joining the World Anti-Doping Agency in 2014 as in-house legal counsel.

Cristy Cooper

Cristy Cooper (Nurse), B.A. (Hons.), J.D., LL.M., was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018. Cristy has broad public and private sector experience and has appeared as counsel in matters before various levels of court and administrative tribunals, including the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada. 

Cristy began her legal career with a focus on litigation and management-side employment and human rights law. She continues to represent sport organizations in various sport-related disputes and advises on contractual, policy, governance, and regulatory matters. Cristy also acts as an independent neutral to receive and administer safe sport complaints and appeals and to adjudicate internal disciplinary and appeal processes. 

A member of the University of Guelph’s OUA-Championship basketball team, Cristy went on to become an Olympian and six-time world medalist in the sport of rowing. She is a former Rowing Canada athlete of the year and a member of the Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame.
